Aloe vera gel is typically used as a moisturizer for skin and in skincare products because it can help trap and hold in moisture. Aloe vera gel can be found from many stores, especially health food outlets, and can be used by itself or mixed with other products for hair application. These products will also help keep your hair moisturized, which can help prevent damage and will keep your hair from drying out.
Make aloe vera shampoo is easy. The easiest way to do this is to take 1 tablespoon of commercially available aloe vera gel and combine it with 8 ounces of shampoo. Mix completely with a spoon and then shampoo your hair as you would normally.
To create a light aloe vera conditioner, take one-quarter cup of aloe vera gel; mix with the juice from half of a lemon as well as a couple drops of an essential oil of your choosing. Apply this mixture to freshly shampooed hair; leave it in for three to five minutes, and then rinse it out. To make a deep conditioner; put together equal parts of olive oil and aloe vera gel and then comb it through your hair. Leave it in for half an hour and then rinse it out.
You can even put together a leave in conditioner. To do this, rub aloe vera gel in your hair (this is most effective after shampooing it first) and massage it in. Because sweat can cause the gel to run and get into your eyes, it is best to stear clear of athletic activity for a couple hours after application. Many people find it effective to put the gel in right before they go to bed.
You can use aloe vera as a styling product by adding a little amount of aloe vera gel to your hair after styling it; you can give natural shine to your hair and help lock in moisture. Just dab a small amount between your hands and then distribute evenly over your hair.
